Essential Duties
Processes personnel action forms and assures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
Serves as PeopleAdmin product support specialist including training and providing expertise to campus users and applicants.
Assists departments when necessary in placing job advertisements in off-campus sources.
Assists, as needed, with data entry on Banner regarding new employees and time entry for biweekly payroll.
Processes new student and temporary employee paperwork and assists with benefits-eligible onboarding as needed.
Assists Director in updating Employment Handbook.
Processes all incoming and outgoing mail.
Prepares and types reports, correspondence and other documents, as needed.
Answers and directs telephone calls.
Provides telephone and in-person assistance to persons seeking employment at the University.
Monitors level of supplies and equipment in office and orders replacements when necessary.
Prepares and processes purchase requisitions and maintains purchase order files.
Establishes and maintains office filing system, including record retention for student and temporary employee files and I-9 documents.
Assists Director in coordination, scheduling and notification of staff development workshops.
Processes Worker’s Compensation claims.
Performs monthly budget reconciliation for Director’s review.
Completes special reports, projects and assignments.
Assists with benefits enrollment and benefits overview.
Processes employee check-outs and assists with updating employee information.
Enters I-9 documentation in E-Verify.
Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Two to three years of experience in a professional office environment required; previous experience in a human resources office environment preferred
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
General knowledge of office methods and procedures
Ability to organize, plan and problem-solve
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Knowledge of Human Resource systems, payroll systems and Banner experience a plus
