*Job Summary:*
The Software Developer reviews, develops, and tests the functionality of the print product of the Diamond System.
This individual works with Business Analysts, Client Services Analysts, and Developers to effectively design, test and implement the print forms and triggers for a given customers’ business needs.
*Job Description:*
* Develops professional forms for insurance companies according to specifications and business requirements.
* Creates and maintains Word documents which utilize mail merge functionality.
* Develops XPaths to provide a flexible way of mapping different parts of an XML file to a Word document.
* Ability to work with a diverse project team, including .
Net Developers, Database Developers, QA Staff, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
* Perform unit testing of modifications and enhancements to ensure system integrity.
* Develops a working knowledge of product, including its configurability options and available functionality.
* Writes VB.
NET code for dealing with form triggers and electronic notifications.
* Understands print system functionality so as to provide recommendations to Business Analysts for system changes as required.
* Manages print task lists for customers’ requests and/or reported defects; prioritizes and communicates status with customers as needed.
* Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and counterparts on the customers’ staff and facilitates discussions to resolve problems.
* Requires a certain degree of creativity or latitude to accomplish position responsibilities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
* High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree.
* B.
S.
in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Math or related field, or equivalent, relevant work experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel Applications, including _expert_ level experience in Microsoft Word.
* Experience formatting professional and visually appealing documents.
* Demonstrated technical aptitude.
* Familiarity with VB.
NET programming, reading and use of XML files, XPath syntax, and SQL databases.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Works under general supervision; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
