Essential Duties:
Primary teaching responsibility is 12 hours per semester at the undergraduate level including courses in the following areas:
Financial Accounting, Tax Accounting, Managerial/Cost Accounting, and Auditing
Excellence in teaching both online and face-to-face.
Student advising for both accounting and business students.
Maintaining an office and strong campus presence at MUW.
Maintaining a presence in the community.
Assistance with program assessment and reporting.
Supporting efforts to recruit new students and secure program growth.
Continued innovation in curriculum and educational delivery.
Service at the College, departmental, and University levels.
Work with a collaborative spirit in furtherance of the mission of Mississippi University for Women, the College of Business and Professional Studies, and the Department of Business.
Other College, departmental, and University duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

The candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Accounting or closely related field including 18 semester hours of graduate-level coursework in Accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Public Accounting, Tax Accounting, and/or Auditing preferred.

Job Description Summary
Position Summary:
Mississippi University for Women College of Business and Professional Studies is seeking applications for a full-time nine-month, Instructor of Accounting in the Department of Business beginning August 2024.
The preferred candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Accounting or closely related field including 18 semester hours of graduate-level coursework in Accounting.
Primary responsibilities will include both online and face-to-face instruction at the undergraduate level, excellence in teaching, student advising and mentoring, as well as other duties as assigned.
Experience with online and nontraditional student populations is preferred.
Experience in Public Accounting, Tax Accounting, and/or Auditing preferred.
CPA or CMA preferred.
