Essential Duties
Answers students’ questions concerning their accounts and researches if necessary.
Performs Head Cashier duties in the absence of Head Cashier.
Receipts payments at cashier window.
Processes student drop/add documents.
Process student withdrawals.
Processes room and board changes to students’ accounts.
Monitors students’ accounts for correct adjustments due to changes in status.
Assists with providing student tax information.
Balances cash drawer to receipts and turns in to Head Cashier.
Charges student apartment rent to account.
Proofs direct deposit information input by Head Cashier for accuracy.
Assists with the issuing of book vouchers and student refunds.
Maintains returned check documentation with University and with bad check division/District Attorney’s office.
Maintains all documentation of student accounts collections.
Composes billings for PACT, VOHAB, scholarships and any other form of tuition assistance.
Receipts all payments that come in the mail, any scholarships and loan checks sent from Financial Aid; as well as CLEP, Thesis Bindings, Bypass exams, etc.
Maintains all promise to pay documentation.
Composes letters to graduates, overdue accounts, scholarships or loans to be endorsed, statement of accounts, etc.
Assists in all aspects of student registration.
Maintains all bankruptcy documentation including pulling students from billing.
Works closely with other departments.
Works closely with Registrar’s Office for admission of VA students.
Proofs transparency website spreadsheet for accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Entry level knowledge, basic employment skills; equivalent of a high school education; certification preferred.
Experience:
Requires less than or equal to 1 year experience.
Cashier, bank teller or similar and clerical office experience preferred.
Job Description Summary
Assists in the performance of all functions associated with maintaining student accounts, student apartments and serves as back up to Head Cashier.
