Lloyd Wood Educational Center is a special education facility for students in the Tuscaloosa County School System.
Its students have multiple abilities and we are looking for special education teachers to serve the needs of these children.
Duties: - Provide specialized instruction to students with special needs in a variety of subjects - Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student - Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student - Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote a positive learning environment - Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure the success of each student - Provide mentoring and support to students in need of additional guidance - Utilize library services and resources to enhance student learning - Provide tutoring and additional support to students who require it - Implement behavioral health strategies and techniques as needed - Collaborate with behavioral therapists to implement behavioral therapy plans Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field - Valid teaching certification in Special Education (must be eligible for Alabama certification) - Experience working with children with special needs - Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies - Familiarity with library services and resources for educational purposes - Ability to provide tutoring and academic support as needed - Experience working with preschool-aged children is a plus - Knowledge of behavioral health strategies is preferred This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who is committed to providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $41,238.
