Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Student Life Specialist I is responsible for the administration of one or more Student Life program(s).
Serves as liaison between the program and other departments or the community.
Position may supervise staff or students.
Part of the Student Life Career Progression Plan.
Additional Department Summary: The primary goal of a Residential Life Area Coordinator is to facilitate the operations of the area, consisting of multiple residential communities, in which they oversee through supervision of Graduate Assistants, referred to as Community Directors, and other community support staff.
Additionally, the Residential Life Area Coordinator is responsible for oversight of ensuring that area staff is promoting a supportive climate for residents to thrive academically and socially through mentoring and supervising the Community Director staff.
Responsible for completing required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.
Responsible for holding staff accountable for completion of required training and expectations.
Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience.
Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student-oriented experience will be considered.

This position will be required to live on campus.
The incumbent must have the ability to work outside of normal work hours.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a residence hall as well as some supervisory and customer service experience.
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Organizational Leadership, or other student leadership field.
