Position Summary
The Department of Modern Languages and Classics is accepting applications for a full-time Instructor in Classics beginning August 16, 2024.
The instructor is primarily responsible for teaching beginning-level Latin courses along with Greek and Roman Mythology.
All courses will be taught in-person unless the administration decides circumstances warrant otherwise.
Detailed Position Information The Department of Modern Languages and Classics is accepting applications for a full-time Instructor in Classics beginning August 16, 2024.
The instructor is primarily responsible for teaching beginning-level Latin courses along with Greek and Roman Mythology.
All courses will be taught in-person unless the administration decides circumstances warrant otherwise.
The initial appointment will be for three years with the possibility of renewal and includes benefits.
We seek a candidate who has proven pedagogical skills, particularly in Latin language instruction, and can help to recruit students and build a strong program.
We are especially interested in candidates who can work with the current faculty to enhance the beginning Latin sequence and who will conduct research, preferably on Latin language pedagogy but not excluding other fields, that results in conference presentations and journal publications.
The program has endowment funds in place for use as scholarships.
